Italian Simone Moro and the Kazakh Denis Urubko have made history and reached the summit of Makalu in 8 hours fighting jet stream winds near the summit. This marks the last Nepalese 8,000m peak to be climbed in the winter.

Up until now 8 out of all 14 eight-thousanders have been winter climbed. In Nepal, only Makalu remains while in Pakistan, all five 8000er summits are yet untouched by man in winter. . .

Our upcoming plans

This summer me and Ryan are going to climb a couple Colorado 14'ers for preperation and are heading to Washington, Oregon, and California to climb these mountains to prepare for a soon winter ascent and ascent of Mount Rainier.

Noah McKelvin is going up to Indian Peaks or somewhere nearby to practice his winter survival skills.
